Featured Animal Rescue Group: Forgotten Friends of Long Island
Forgotten Friends of Long Island is a 100% no kill 501c3 not for
profit rescue based out of Long Island NY. They save dogs and cats from local
and city kill shelters. They also rescue strays - abandoned and alone from the
streets. They take the broken and the bruised, the scared and the sad and make
them whole again.
FFLI currently has 2 small places for their cats and foster
homes as well. Unfortunately they do not yet have a shelter for their dogs and
they are all in foster. This makes it very difficult to save as many as they
would like and are working feverishly to find a little place of their own for
their rescues to hang their hats until their forever homes are found. FFLI is
not funded and rely on the support of the public and their own fundraising to
keep them going.
Forgotten Friends feels no animal is unlovable and they do not discriminate
on breed/age/health. They are all unpaid volunteers and the passion for these
animals keeps them focused and driven. They will not stop until every last
stray is in their forever home!
